We are saddened to announce the death of John Farley on 13th June 2018.
John was one of the most significant figures in the Dunsfold Airfield story and his critical part in the success of the Harrier can not be underestimated.
John’s obituary on Flight Global can be read here. The Daily Telegraph obituary is here.
A brief account of some of John’s achievements can be found here.
So sad to hear of the passing of John Farley, I worked at Dunsfold
In the 1970’s and always admired him as a great pilot and a great guy, his Harrier Demos .helped sell the Harrier and it was a thrill to see his ‘ Farley takeoff ‘. His knowledge was a great help to many.
He will be missed.
Not only was John a gifted expert of nozzle-born flight, but also a true gentleman.
Polite, helpful, open minded, true, honest, reliable and equipped with a good portion of humour.
He will always be remembered and I lwill always love him.
Checked in here, looking for records on my step dad, John Farley, appreciate the person who put the site together
